Winter Camp 2014
Winter Camp’s schedule has changed a bit this year. We are still offering merit badges but instead of taking four to five merit badges a day, a Scout will only take one merit badge a day and work on that badge all day. Most merit badges offered are one day classes but some are two day classes. Please check out the MB schedule on the link provided.
There will be a Gator Float down the San Bernard that will be offered on the last day of camp. This is for youth that have already earned the Canoeing merit badge and whom have taken and passed the swimmers test this calendar year. The canoe trip can only take a max of 12 youth and two adults.
One leader form every troop is encouraged to take part in the dessert cook off that happens on Monday evening. Have your dessert ready to bring to the Richardson Leaders Lodge for after the leader’s dinner.
Chapel service is offered to all scouts coming to camp. Come to service and earn the ticket to purchase a NEW Camp Karankawa Duty to God patch.
Don’t forget we have closing campfire on Tuesday evening. This is the time to show off your singing and showmanship skills. Troops and scouts are encouraged to stay through the campfire before departure. You never know you might win something!!
Yep we have a trading post. We are always selling water, energy drinks, soda, snacks, candy, ice cream and assorted camping necessities for you. New items this year are two different Camp K knives, Camp K mini flashlights and Camp K carabineers, info pamphlets and cooking books.
Did you start collecting the official Camp K stuffed animal? Last year it was the Gator Dude, this year it’s a Squirrel. Every year is a different critter, start your collection now!
