Frequently asked questions

What is Roundtable and who is it for?

Roundtable is continual education and supplemental training for all leaders. Anyone can attend and it is highly suggested and requested that at least one representative from each unit is present to bring back information about what is currently happening in our Scouting Community. Some units rotate their "secretaries" others have several in attendance all the time. We will even have Scout parents in attendance who are chairing a particular event or fundraiser for their unit. Every month is slightly different in information that is dependent on the time of year concerning membership, fundraisers, events, recharters, camps, activities, Good Turn Projects and special community interest. There is also the "Mobile Scout Office Currier Service" where every unit has a file and can pick up forms or drop forms off to the District Executive. (Don't forget to check your file every month.)

What happens at roundtable?

Skits crafts - games - sharing ideas- food - making friends - guest presenters - discussing the scouting theme - sharing their resources with you - every month is diffrent!

What are the results and benefits of attending roundtable?

Gain knowledge - smile frequently - gain outside resources for assistance - have more fun than the average leader - your scouts have more fun - your scouts want to stay in scouting - obtain first hand information on District and Council events - drop off and pick up paperwork for your unit - and much more!

Free Child Care is provided by Dickinson High School National Honor Society Students where they play games and help with homework if needed so you can attend your program area.

To join the distribution listing and receive District emails on events and information, please send a request to: lisa.stegman@scouting.org - (include your unit # & leadership position - ex. Troop 574, Committee Member)
