Report to State 2017

March With Us

Check back for the 2017 theme!

Celebrate the anniversary of the Scouting movement at the 68th annual Boy Scout Parade and Report to the State of Texas.

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts and Explorers from all over Texas march up Congress Avenue to the Capitol. Scout Delegates from each council in Texas are seated in the House of Representatives and report to a member of the state government about Scouting accomplishments in their council from the past year.

The Bay Area Council will put a delegation together of 25 youth, one of them will be the spokesman for our council.

Pick up your patches at the NW corner of Congress Avenue & Cesar Chavez (1st Street) outside the Radisson Hotel (pick up and sign for your unit packet of souvenirs by unit number.)

Your Spokesman

Your council youth representative, selected from your delegation, will need to be prepared to give your council’s delegation service report at the Report to State Ceremony. The report must be concise (no more than one minute) but informative. Please select one or two items that have been an important service accomplishment in your council during the previous year. Good examples to report on include Scouting for Food drives and other community oriented service projects. Human events stories are just as important as large numerical figures. The emphasis of your report is the importance of Scouting and its effect on youth in your council rather than identifying only record breaking figures or camping statistics. Please contact Lisa Stegman at lisa.stegman@scouting.org for spokesman consideration.
