John is from Quincy, Illinois. He is the oldest of five sons all of whom attained the Rank of Eagle Scout. He and his brothers held the record for the most Eagles in one generation in the State of Illinois back in the ‘70s. John earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education. John went on to teach for 35 years – 25 of those in Texas at Freeport Intermediate School in Brazosport I.S.D. He also taught in Iowa and Illinois. He touched ~ 11,000 lives in the field of music. He has been a volunteer Scouter with his two boys. They are both in Boy Scouts: Peter is a Life rank and James is Star. John has been very active in his church and has served on various building committees for Brazosport I.S.D. and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Lake Jackson. He is a charter member of the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra and served as President of its Board in the ‘80s. He is now living out his other passion in life by working for the Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America as the District Executive of Thunderbird District. |
