Wilderness First Aid 2013

DATE: Saturday, June 1 & Sunday, June 2, 2013

TIME: 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. each day 

PLACE: Camp Karankawa, meet at the Leaders Lodge

REGISTER BY: May 28, 2013

COST: $80.00 (Includes all books, Course & Certification Certificate and food

          Saturday: Lunch, dinner and snacks will be provided. Sunday: Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. Also water with flavor packets and coffee.

PREREQUISITES (American Red Cross or equivalent): Current certification in CPR, Current certification in Basic First Aid, Must be at least 15 years old

COUSRE LIMIT8 (min.) – 35 (max.) participants

This is the latest approved course for BSA and American Red Cross.


A 16 Hour Course which builds on the First Aid and CPR classes. This course is designed to train you in rural and outdoor settings in how to respond to emergencies; using what you have.  It will teach the principles of “When Help is Delayed” and “Mountaineering Skills”. This course is available to all registered Boy Scouts, Ventures, and all Leaders if prerequisites are met. Participant must attend both days for certification. Please bring

BSA Health Form Parts A&B to Camp!


(This course is a BSA Policy Requirement. As of 2008, the requirement is for at least one leader in each group, not just unit, must have this certification for high adventure camps. So, if your unit has a trek that will be broken into multiple groups you will need one leader per group trained.)

Cancellation Policy: Refunds of camp/event fees will only be considered if requested in writing and received in the council office at least 10 days prior to the start of camp or an event. Refunds are only given for personal illnesses of the registered participant or a family emergency.
