Report to State 2020
All Scouts, volunteers, and families are invited to celebrate the anniversary of Scouting in the United States with our annual parade through downtown Austin! Join Scouts from across the 18 councils in Texas as we demonstrate Scout spirit via floats, marching, cheering, and music. After the parade up Congress Avenue, participate in the Scout Spirit Rally on the south steps of the Capitol and let everyone know you’re proud to be a Scout! Then head into the House of Representatives’ chamber and hear the delegates’ reports across the state, plus comments from an elected state lawmaker who serves as our honored guest for the day. In the past, the Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and other leaders have served as the honored guest.

The Delegation
The Bay Area Council will put a delegation together of 25 youth, one of them will be the spokesman for our council. The official report delegation will consist of six Scouts. For consideration, please contact Warren Reed at warren.reed@scouting.org.
Your spokesman
Your council youth representative, selected from your delegation, will need to be prepared to give your council’s delegation service report at the Report to State Ceremony. The report must be concise (no more than one minute) but informative. Please select one or two items that have been an important service accomplishment in your council during the previous year. Good examples to report on include Scouting for Food drives and other community oriented service projects. Human events stories are just as important as large numerical figures. The emphasis of your report is the importance of Scouting and its effect on youth in your council rather than identifying only record-breaking figures or camping statistics. Please contact Warren Reed at warren.reed@scouting.org for spokesman consideration.

Lost Pines Scout Reservation: LPSR is located approximately 35 miles from downtown Austin. Please bring your own tents and camping gear.
