Angler Education Instructor Training 2013

The Texas Parks & Wildlife invite you to attend Angler Education classes!

Time: 8:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.
Date: March 30, 2013
Venue: Sea Center, Texas, 300 Medical Drive, Lake Jackson, TX 77566

OR

Time: 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Date: May 18, 2013
Venue: Bass Pro Shop, 1000 Bass Pro Drive, Pearland, TX


This class will cover several areas of Angler Education for your future events, as well advance your knowledge of fishing education while learning about; Fish Identification, Rigging lines, Eco-System, Fish Habitat, Stewardship, Event Preparation just to name a few, all in conjunction with learning from our well developed Instructors guide.

Also you will receive certification as a TPWD Volunteer instructor, plenty of good information and resources, give-a-ways, most importantly a life-long appreciation to teach the same knowledge to generations to come. If you are unable to make it, please let us know.

BEFORE THE WORKSHOPplease go to the TPWD Volunteer website and complete these four steps:

      1. Set up your profile and register as a TPWD volunteer

       2. On the Interest page: go to “Teach Outdoor Skills” section and Select  Angler Education.

       3. Authorize and Complete the Criminal Background Check section (all fields must be completed including your Drivers License number and electronic signatures). 

       4. After you have created your profile, go to the main volunteer page and click on “search opportunities” on the right-hand side. Select “Angler Ed Instructor-Pending” to sign-up for this “opportunity”.  If you do not have internet access, you may complete the application and criminal background check forms at the workshop.

At the workshop, you will receive an Angler Education Instructor guidebook. Once TPWD receives the Criminal Background Check authorization report/verification approval, they will send you an email to confirm your eligibility as an official Angler Education Volunteer Instructor. (This process should take about 2-3 weeks.)
