Advancement & Awards

Boy Scouting provides a series of surmountable obstacles and steps in overcoming them through the advancement method. The Boy Scout plans his advancement and progresses at his own pace as he meets each challenge. The Boy Scout is rewarded for each achievement, which helps him gain self-confidence. The steps in the advancement system help a Boy Scout grow in self-reliance and in the ability to help others. The Bay Area Council is excited to offer Internet advancement as well!

Internet Rechartering

The Bay Area Council offers Internet Rechartering for your unit. This method for rechartering will make the whole process easier because you’ll be completing the charter renewal information yourself which ensures that it will be correct and you can do it from your home or office, anytime that it’s convenient for you.

Jouney to Excellence

“Scouting’s Journey to Excellence” is the BSA’s new council performance recognition program designed to encourage and reward success and measure the performance of our units, districts, and councils. It is replacing the Centennial Quality Awards Program as a means of encouraging excellence in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA.

Good Turn for America

Good Turn for America is a national call to service by the BSA to ensure adequate food and shelter and to develop good health habits in our nation.
