Also you will receive certification as a TPWD Volunteer instructor, plenty of good information and resources, give-a-ways, most importantly a life-long appreciation to teach the same knowledge to generations to come. If you are unable to make it, please let us know.
BEFORE THE WORKSHOP, please go to the TPWD Volunteer website and complete these four steps:
1. Set up your profile and register as a TPWD volunteer
2. On the Interest page: go to “Teach Outdoor Skills” section and Select Angler Education.
3. Authorize and Complete the Criminal Background Check section (all fields must be completed including your Drivers License number and electronic signatures).
4. After you have created your profile, go to the main volunteer page and click on “search opportunities” on the right-hand side. Select “Angler Ed Instructor-Pending” to sign-up for this “opportunity”. If you do not have internet access, you may complete the application and criminal background check forms at the workshop.
At the workshop, you will receive an Angler Education Instructor guidebook. Once TPWD receives the Criminal Background Check authorization report/verification approval, they will send you an email to confirm your eligibility as an official Angler Education Volunteer Instructor. (This process should take about 2-3 weeks.)
