Bay Area CouncilTrainingBALOO - RANGEMASTER 2014

BALOO/Rangemaster Training...

The Rangemaster course is provided for those leaders who will be serving as Rangemasters at Cub, Boy, and Venture Scout shooting events that include archery, BB gun, catapult, rockets, writs rockets, sling shots, and other devices designed to launch items through the air.  There is no firearm shooting involved in this course. Range Master training needs to be renewed every two years. Please make sure that your staff is properly trained on how to operate a safe shooting sports program. Cub Scouts and Webelos can only shoot BB guns and archery at Council - or District-sponsored events and not on a pack or den level. Please be advised that training courses are open to anyone regardless of your District, so sign up today.

BALOO is a requirement for Cub Scout Pack Camping. There must be at least one leader with BALOO training at a pack camping activity. There should be several leaders in your unit that have this training. BALOO does not replace OWLS (WOLT) which is mandatory for all Webelos Leaders. OWLS does not replace BALOO; they are not interchangeable.
