BSA & Red Cross Lifeguard Certification 2015
ABOUT: BSA Lifeguard training has been established to provide local camps with qualified members who can give knowledgeable leadership for camp programs on the water. The lifeguard course will be conducted beginning Thursday at 1:00 p.m. The training course is divided into eight sessions each lasting approximately three hours. Training will conclude on Saturday. Participants must be a capable swimmer at least 15 years of age. A capable swimmer is one who can swim 550 yards using the elementary backstroke, the breaststroke, the sidestroke, and either the crawl or trudgen, perform a surface dive and demonstrate the ability to rest by floating.
TIME: Check in Thursday between 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Pool, Lifeguard instructions begins at 1 p.m.; Checkout Saturday at 5 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants will be camping at the pool during the course. Adults do not have to camp overnight, but it is recommended. Participants will need to check into at the pool area between 8:30 and 12:00 pm Thursday morning. Participants should park in the parking area past the leaders lodge and go to the pool's outside pavillion for check in. Note that participants will need to stay the last day until they complete their tests and receive their certifications.
