DESCRIPTION: \n  \n  \n  \n  \n Safety at Sea 2024 \n  \n at Coast Guard Base Galveston \n  \n Be Prepared at Sea \n  \n Ever wonder what you would do if someone fell overboard from your boat? \n  \n  \n Do you have a plan to deal with heavy weather if you can’t reach a safe harbor? \n  \n  \n We all know that things can go very wrong at sea, but do you know what to do when bad gets worse?  \n  \n  \n Safety at Sea is designed to address safety concerns from crew-overboard situations to gear emergencies and seasickness. Classes are taught by professionals and dedicated volunteers providing both novice and experienced sailors alike with the information and skills needed for sailing preparedness. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n • Round Robin style learning stations  \n  \n  \n • Man overboard & rescue procedures  \n  \n  \n • Safety gear training  \n  \n  \n • Damage control training  \n  \n  \n • Educators include the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxillary \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Details \n  \n DATE: November 9, 2024 \n  \n  \n TIME: 8 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. \n  \n  \n CHECK-IN: 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. \n  \n  \n PLACE: Coast Guard Base Galveston, 1 Ferry Road, Galveston, TX 77550 \n  \n  \n PRICING: $10.00 (Please advise during registration of any special dietary needs.) \n  \n  \n PLEASE NOTE:  This event is only available for Sea Scouts and Venture crews. Scouts B.S.A. 14 years or older are eligible to attend this event as a guest with an existing ship if your primary registration is with a troop.
