Dear Bay Area Council Troops and Leaders,
We want to let you know that the 2026 Bay Area Council Camp-O-Ree has been moved to the first weekend in May 2026.
This change is intended to help those Troops that were facing a choice between attending OA Conclave and participating in Camp-O-Ree. By moving Camp-O-Ree to the first weekend in May, units will now have the opportunity to support both events.
The weekend originally scheduled for Camp-O-Ree will now be used as a special Camp-O-Ree dry-run weekend called "Road to 250".
This weekend, March 27-29th, is intended to give units an opportunity to prepare and sharpen their skills ahead of the main event. It will be TROOP WEEKEND CAMPING, not a council event.
Troops may use the time to:
• Run their patrols through team-building exercises
• Set up and test their Camp-O-Ree station
• Practice event logistics and campsite setup
• Hold a cooking competition to see if they have the right recipe ready for the event
The theme for this year’s Camp-O-Ree is America 250, celebrating the founding of our nation. We encourage units to design their event stations around this theme and use the "Road to 250" weekend, as a chance to develop ideas, refine presentations, and prepare for a great council-wide event rescheduled to the first weekend in May.
Thank you for your flexibility, preparation, and support as we work together to make this year’s Camp-O-Ree a strong and memorable event.
