BSA Lifeguard Training Weekend - CANCELLED
Prepare for an intensive weekend course which will take a Scout or adult through the required BSA Lifeguard Certification Credentials.
Once obtained, the certification will assist the individual in volunteering at the unit level for swims and boating programs, plus can lead to employment positions in both the internal Scouting community and beyond.

TIME: Check in from 5 p.m. on Friday. Check out at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
DATE: September 11-13, 2020
PLACE: Camp Karankawa, 3249 FM 1459 Rd., Sweeny, Texas 77480
WHO MAY ATTEND: Anyone may attend but you must be at least 15 years of age to receive certification.
COST: $150 per participant (Friday Dinner is NOT included. All meals starting with Saturday breakfast until Sunday lunch are provided. Bring any snacks you may want. The Trading Post will not be open.)
CAPACITY: Limited to the first 24 participants

WHAT TO BRING:
- BSA Health form (Parts A & B must be completed)
- Appropriate Swimwear*
- Sunscreen
- Personal bag/day pack to keep items in.
- Clothing & camping gear (tent, cot, etc.) – Camping is not mandatory, but you will not be able to complete the course if you are late to the start of any day. Due to the nature of the long days, anyone leaving camp property will not be allowed to drive themselves; they must be signed out & picked up by someone not in the class.
- Eating utensils, plates and cup
- Water shoes
*Swimming attire for all Scouting participants: Swimsuits should be comfortable, functional and modest. For males, swim trunks or board shorts are appropriate. Tight fitting swim briefs or swim bottoms short enough to allow exposure are not allowed. For females, bikinis are not allowed. Modest tankinis or one piece swimsuits are appropriate.
