Gathering of Eagles & Silver Beavers 2022

You are invited

More than 100 Scouts in the Bay Area Council earn their Eagle rank each year. To honor their achievement, the Bay Area Council hosts the Gathering of Eagles. This will be a very special evening for the 2020-2021 Eagles, Eagle Alumni, parents, sponsors, and guests.  It is our hope that you will help make this a memorable event by sponsoring one or more Eagle Scouts, as well as joining us in celebrating this wonderful event.

We will also honor our Sea Scout Award and Venture Award recipients and our Silver Beaver recipients. The Silver Beaver Award is presented for distinguished service to youth. It is the highest honor that the Bay Area Council can award to a volunteer. We hope you will join us in honoring ours volunteers as well.

Guest Speaker - Maurice "Termite" Watkins

Houston's own Maurice "Termite" Watkins always loved a good fight. With a nickname like Termite and being a scrawny, little child, he was offered many opportunities. From the age of 10 years old, his passion was to be a champion. He realized that dream many times over by becoming our Nation's first 16-year-old Golden Gloves Champion (with an amateur record of 128 wins and 10 losses), by becoming a professional boxer (58 wins, 5 losses, 2 draws, and 48 knock-outs), and by concluding his career with a fight for the coveted World Title! After his legendary career, he was asked to go to Iraq and use his pest control skill, the business he’d learned as a child from his father, to rid our U.S. military camps of bugs, scorpions, and snakes. Through a series of events, he was soon asked to coach and qualify the Iraqi boxing team for the 2004 Olympics.

Termite is a recipient of the prestigious Arete Award, an annual award honoring the excellence of extraordinary individuals making a difference and impact. He currently coaches at his gym in Northshore and has a consulting business where he helps companies with business development and motivation training for employees. He has also acted in a movie on Netflix and Balboa Productions, Sylvester Stallone's production company, is currently making a movie based on his life. Termite inspired the world and will inspire you as well with his story of incredible perseverance overcoming daunting obstacles as he helped Iraq reach their Olympic dreams and most recently as he overcame COVID-19.

TIME: Check-in and social time begins at 6:00 p.m. The program begins at 7 p.m.

$25 for parents, friends, siblings and guests
Complimentary for all 2020-2021 Eagle Scouts, Quartermasters, and Silver Beaver recipients

SPONSORSHIP: $100. Sponsor names will be included in the program. 

SWEET & SAVORY SOCIAL: Light hor d'oeuvres will be served until 6:45 p.m. 

DRESS: After-five business or Class A field uniforms (Adults, Eagle Scouts and Quartermasters.)

Fellowship of Eagle Scouts

The Bay Area Council Fellowship of Eagle Scouts is a fellowship of Eagle Scout Alumni who reside or work within the boundaries of the Bay Area Council, or individuals who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout from a unit within the Bay Area Council.
