BSA Lifeguard Training Weekend

Prepare for an intensive weekend course which will take a Scout or adult through the required BSA Lifeguard Certification Credentials. 

Once obtained, the certification will assist the individual in volunteering at the unit level for swims and boating programs, plus can lead to employment positions in both the internal Scouting community and beyond.

Registration

TIME: Check in at 8 a.m. Friday.
Class starts promptly at 9 a.m. on Friday.

DATE: June 24-26, 2022

PLACE: Camp Karankawa, 3249 FM 1459 Rd., Sweeny, Texas 77480

WHO MAY ATTEND: Anyone may attend but you must be at least 15 years of age to receive certification.

COST: $150 per participant
(Meals are provided.)

CAPACITY: Limited to the first 14 participants

WHAT TO BRING:
BSA Health form (Parts A & B must be completed)
Appropriate Swimwear*
Sunscreen

Water shoes
Clothing & camping gear
Eating utensils, plates and cup

*Swimming attire for all Scouting participants: Swimsuits should be comfortable, functional and modest. For males, swim trunks or board shorts are appropriate. Tight fitting swim briefs or swim bottoms short enough to allow exposure are not allowed. For females, bikinis are not allowed. Modest tankinis or one piece swimsuits are appropriate.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds will only be granted and paid to the original paying customer - the unit or individual. Refunds will only be considered under certain circumstances (sickness, death in family, summer school, military deployment or relocation only) as long as it is requested in writing, with back-up documentation, and received in the Scout Service Center, 3020 53rd Street, Galveston, TX 77551-5917. A 15% processing fee will be applied to all refunds. Refund requests due to light weather issues, homesickness, schedule conflicts, misinterpretation of printed council policies and procedures or reasons other than those noted above will not warrant a refund. In addition, partial refunds will not be granted for partial camp/event stays. If a camp or event is forced to be canceled by the council, because of severe weather, or circumstances prior to the camp or event occurring, the council will reschedule the camp/event or initiate the refund process. All requests are due to the council office no later than 15 days after the close of the event. Refunds will be issued in the form of a check within 30 days after a formal decision has been made.
