Merit Badge Sponsorship Program

The Merit Badge Sponsorship Program is designed to offer business and community supporters unique marketing benefits themed around the BSA merit badge program. Merit Badge Sponsors are highlighted throughout the year in communications with more than 5,000 boys, girls, families and volunteers.  

The Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge Sponsors are special Friends of Scouting donors who provide opportunities for youth to benefit from Scouting’s rich traditions of Adventure, Leadership, and Service. Unlike many other youth programs, Scouting is a year-round activity and is a model of positive youth development.

Sponsorship Levels

NOVA Award Sponsors

The Scouts BSA NOVA Awards program incorporates learning with cool activities and exposure Scouts to science, technology, engineering and mathematics for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and Venturers. Multiple Nova awards for Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Scouts BSA, and Venturers cover one component of STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Sponsors of the NOVA Award will be recoginzed on the council website and banners at Merit Badge Midways, council/district camps and activities, and special events. Special recognition will be given at STEM events and with STEM related merit badges workshops. NOVA Award sponsors will receive a plque to display their support of Scout BSA and STEM.

Eagle Merit Badge Sponsors

Eagle Merit Badge Sponsors (silver banded merit badges) are individuals, businesses, or organizations that recognize the importance of Scouts BSA and want to help local scouts learn life skills and explore vocations, activities, sports, and hobbies through Scout advancement and Merit Badges. Eagle is the highest honor in scouting and these sponsors see the value in assisting scouts reach the Eagle rank.

Eagle Merit Badge sponsors will be recognized on the council website and banners at council/district camps and activities, and special events. These sponsors will also receive a plque to display their support of Scouts BSA.
